Do you have a
planner?
Do you plan daily, weekly, or monthly?
In planning your day, do
you make a list of your goals? Are they specific, measurable,
achievable and compatible with where you are now?
Use only one planner to
keep track of your appointments, class assignments,
test, report and presentation dates.
- Write out a 'To Do
list' every week to be reviewed on Sunday.
- Separate your 'To Do
list' into A, B and C priorities.
- Start with the A
items. Check off items as you complete them to give
yourself a sense of accomplishment.
- Block off time in
your planner for major activities.
- Do it now (just
because it isn't due doesn't mean you can't complete
it).
- Week-at-a-glance
planner allows you to see information for a whole
week and gives plenty of room to track what needs to
be done that week.
Recognize
that procrastination stems from habit. New habits will
be needed, and these take time and commitment to
develop. Understand the cause for procrastination, then
develop strategies to fix it. People don't want to face
the consequences of failure, so they delay. Maintain a
focus on the end result, not just the process. Allow for
unanticipated interruptions in your schedule. This means
leaving some empty spaces during the day or in some way
being flexible enough to handle interruptions.
-
If you have an
iPad, iPhone, or iPod
- Use

countdown timer, reminder, exam & test timetable app
for students.
-
Or
Class Timetable - Keep track of classes and
add events to your week's schedule with ease with a
beautiful colour filled interface, optional
multi-week timetables, and more.
-
Or
Evernote - take notes, create to-do lists,
add images, scan documents with your camera, take
handwritten notes, make sketches, and more!.
Complex Projects
- Break large
assignments into smaller, more manageable tasks.
- Plan and complete a
start-up task, no matter how small.
- Complete something.
- Make a very small
task for yourself and complete your target.
Indecision
Determine a time for making a decision and the criteria
for making it.
Perfectionism
Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good (an Obama
quote:).
Reduce Stress with the SPARKLE Formula

P – Plan every day.
A – Anticipate less.
R – Relax.
K – Keep Anger under control.
